Types of intervention

Services matched to the pest and the situation

Pest control is not one standard treatment. The work begins with the service the situation requires, then adapts to the species and the affected spaces.

Inspection and identification

01

For droppings, noises, damage, insects or tracks you cannot confidently identify. Alexandre reviews what you noticed, checks the active areas and determines whether an on-site inspection is needed before recommending work.

Applies to

Mice, rats, cockroaches, bed bugs, ants, wasps, hornets, spiders and wildlife

Extermination and targeted treatment

02

The treatment is selected for the pest, the extent of the activity and the spaces involved. Preparation, precautions and the expected follow-up are explained before the intervention begins.

Applies to

Mice, rats, cockroaches, bed bugs, ants, wasps, hornets and spiders

Wildlife removal and capture

03

The animal, its access route and the possible presence of young are assessed first. The response may involve removal, capture or another lawful method chosen for the species, season and location.

Applies to

Raccoons, squirrels, groundhogs, skunks and pigeons

Entry-point and return-prevention work

04

When it is part of the recommended intervention, Alexandre can identify active openings and explain the exclusion, repair, cleanup, monitoring or follow-up needed after the affected space is confirmed clear.

Applies to

Especially rodents and wildlife, with case-specific guidance for insects

Wildlife relocation

Relocation is one possible response, not a promise for every animal

A call about “relocation” may involve a raccoon in an attic, squirrels at a soffit, a groundhog beneath a deck, a skunk under a structure or pigeons using a ledge. Those situations do not all permit the same service.

Alexandre first identifies the animal, the occupied area, the active access and whether young or a nest may be present. Depending on the species, season, location and applicable rules, the response may involve removal, capture, permitted relocation or another method.

Why the recommendation changes

The same sign can lead to a different service

The pest matters, but so do the location, access and pattern of activity. These details determine what needs to be inspected and treated.

Scratching in a wall or attic

The timing, weight of the movement, droppings and access route help distinguish mice or rats from squirrels, raccoons or another animal. An occupied opening should not be sealed before it is assessed.

Insects in a kitchen or bedroom

A specimen, photo and the rooms involved help separate cockroaches, bed bugs, ants and other insects. In an apartment or condo, shared walls and service passages may change the inspection scope.

A nest or repeated outdoor route

Wasps entering one soffit gap, ants leading toward damp wood and wildlife returning beneath a deck each require a different service. The visible opening is only one part of the assessment.

Service questions

What clients ask before choosing a service

What pests does Gestion Parasitaire D'Amour exterminate?

Current pest-control services cover mice, rats, cockroaches, bed bugs, ants, wasps, hornets and spiders. The first step is to confirm the pest and the extent of its activity so the treatment is suited to the species, affected spaces and occupants.

Which wild animals can you remove?

The current wildlife service covers raccoons, squirrels, groundhogs, skunks and pigeons in Montréal, Laval and the North Shore. Bats and other species are not promised on this page. Alexandre can confirm whether the animal is within scope or requires a specialized resource.

Do you relocate every wild animal you capture?

No. Removal does not automatically mean transporting an animal elsewhere. The permitted response depends on the species, season, location, presence of young and applicable rules. After assessing the situation, Alexandre explains whether removal, capture, relocation or another method is appropriate.

Can I call if I do not know what pest or animal it is?

Yes. Describe what you saw, heard or found and where it happened. A clear photo, a short recording or notes about the time of activity may help. Alexandre can then determine whether identification is possible remotely or whether an on-site inspection is needed.

Does the service include sealing entry points?

Entry-point work is determined case by case. An active wildlife opening should not be sealed until the space is confirmed vacant. Alexandre identifies relevant access points and explains what exclusion or repair work is included and what may need to be completed separately.

Not sure which service applies?

Describe what you saw, heard or found

Alexandre can start from the signs, explain what needs to be inspected and confirm the recommended work and price before the intervention begins.
